Looking out onto the horizon at night one can see lights. If these lights remain in the same place for an extended period of time, they are no doubt fishing, under the cover of darkness, illegally. During the daylight hours we aim to provide images for our reporters so that they can identify the types of fishing vessels they may be seeing along their coastline. This information is useful for us to determine the legality of the boat’s presence. Take a look through our images so that when you send a report you can correctly identify the vessels that you may be seeing. Incident reports of fishing vessels should include: Date, time and location, vessel type, fishing equipment type, number of people visible and species being caught. Photographic evidence is optimal.
